Energy comsumption of U.S

The topic is about energy consumption of each state in U.S. I focus on petroleum energy, which consists of Distillste fuel, Jet fuel, Motor gasoline, Residual fuel and other. For all states, motor gasoline dominates petroleum energy and it accounts for 62.4% on average. Also, among all states, California and Texas are top 2 states for energy usage.

BAR CHART

The picture on the right shows the total energy usage of each states of U.S.  We can see that total energy of Texas and California is about 3000 Trillion Btu, which exceeds others’ greatly.

PIE CHART

The graph on the left shows proportion of all types of petroleum energy. ‘Motor gasoline’ dominate petroleum energy, while ‘others’ only accounts for 0.8%.

BAR CHART

The picture on the right shows the total petroleum energy usage of each states of U.S.  It is quite similar to picture1.

BOXPLOT

The picture on the right shows the distribution of each type of petroleum energy. I scaled y-axis to make the visualization more beautiful. Different type has different median and all have sereval outliers.

PLOTLY

The stacked bar chart above shows the different type of petroleum energy usage of each states of U.S.  It is clear to see the five components of petroleum energy of each state. Also we can see that Motor gasoline accounts for the most for almost every state.
